Dr. Ali Muhammad Khuraibet
Eco Founder & General Manager
Kuwait

  • Obtained his B. Sc. in Zoology from the Kuwait University in 1983 and his M. Sc. in Environment Impact assessment (EIA) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1987.
  • He obtained his Ph.D. in EIA application at the project and policy levels and sustainable development from the University of Aberdeen in 1990.
  • He carried out his post doctoral research fellowship, also from the University of Aberdeen in 1997.
  • Listed as an Environmental Expert in the fields of EIA with the united Nations Environmental Program "Directory of Environmental Experts"
  • He Worked in Kuwait Industries for scientific research at the Environmental and earth Sciences Division from 1984-1991
  • He is an Associated Professor and a member of the teaching staff at the Environmental Health Department, college of Health Sciences, PAAET and served as head of the Department from 1992-1995.
  • He has worked extensively in all intertidal zones of Kuwait and also in dessert ecosystem and had wide environmental research interest in Kuwait Marine environment, intertidal and sub tidal, waste management, land-use planning, policy analysis, environmental management of islands.
  • He was appointed by Kuwait EPA to head the Environmental impact Assessment Committee. The committee was responsible in formulating the new EIA regulations for Kuwait.
  • He carried out Many Environmental impacts Assessment Studies international companies such as Hyundai Engineering and construction company and Parsons Engineers Limited
  • He was officially appointed by the national associated of under water instructors (NAUI, USA) as a research member of the Reef Rescue Committee.
  • He was appointed by EPA as a member of the official committee that investigated the "Fish Kill Incident" that happened in Kuwait in 1999.

Prof. Brain D. Clark
United Kingdom

  • Professor Clark is an internationally known expert on environmental assessment and management with thirty five year's experience in urban and regional planning environmental management in the UK, Europe and overseas.
  • He is professor of environmental management and planning at Aberdeen University and was an Associate Director of CORDAH Company, UK.
  • He has acted has an advisor and consultant on EIA and environmental issues to the Department of the environment, the house of lords, the Scottish office, the Welsh office, the United Nations Environment Program, the World Health Organization, the United Nations of Economic commission for Europe and the world Bank.
  • He was honored in 1987 by being made a founder member of the "Global 500 Award" from UNEP for his services towards environmental management.
  • In 1992, he was awarded the "ROSE Hulman Institute of technology Award" by the international Association for impact Assessment for "Outstanding Achievement" in the Field of impact Assessment.
  • He is the Board Member Of the institute of Environmental Management, UK.
  • He presented Courses and conducted EIA work world wide including the Middle East and the GCC region.
  • He has written and published many papers and books related to EIA.

Prof. Larry W. Canter
USA

  • Obtained his Ph.D in Environmental Health Engineering from the University of Texas in 1967, Master degree in sanitary engineering from the University of Illinois in 1962 and B.E. in civil Engineering from the Vanderbilt University in 1961.
  • He was the sun company chair of ground water Hydrology, George Lynn Cross Research Professor, and Director, Environmental and Ground Water Institute, University of Oklahoma U.S.A.
  • He served has a Director of the school of the civil Engineering and Environmental sciences, at the university of Oklahoma from 1971-1979and as co-director of the National center for Ground Water Research From 1979-1992.
  • In 1982 he received the outstanding faculty Achievement in Research Award from the college of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma and in 1983 the" Regent's Award for superior Accomplishment in Research".
  • He has written Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) on projects such as power plants gas pipeline and compressor stations, highways, wastewater treatment plants, industrial plant and flood control dams.
  • He served on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers of Environmental Advisory Board from 1983-1989.
  • He presented EIA courses world wide including the GCC countries and wrote six books related to EIA.

Dr. Dhia H.Al- Bakri
Australia

  • Obtained his M.Sc. in sediments of estuaries and coastal areas from the University of Sheffield, UK in 1975.
  • He holds a Ph.D. in land Resources from the University of Sheffield, UK, 1980.
  • He is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management at the University of Sydney, Orange, Australia; He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience in environmental geosciences. This is matched by considerable experience interdisciplinary and collaborative project, and consultancy and administration in relation to environmental and resource management in UK, Spain, Kuwait, and Australia.
  • His research and consultancy Profile includes the development and implementation of 30major multidisciplinary project with a total budget exceeding $15 million in UK, Spain, Kuwait and Australia.
  • He research interest include Environmental impact Assessment, hydrology and water quality of inland waterways, sustainable storm water management, application of Geographic Information system (GIS) in land resource management, coastal management and sustainable catchments, sustainability of greening programmers in arid and semi-arid environments.

Dr. Faten Al- Attar
Kuwait

  • She is a Professional and talented environmental with excellent background in industrial management, chemistry, waste management and occupational health and safety and environmental auditing.
  • She is only Kuwaiti registered with IEMA, UK as an Associate Environmental auditor.
  • Obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from University of Aberdeen, Scotland in EIA and waste management and sustainable development strategies, respectively.
  • She carried out many EIA studies for major Projects such as oil loading terminals, waste management and industrial areas.
  • She is the general manager of SHEMS international Environmental Consultants, Kuwait.
