The facility will be using state of the art microwave technology innovated by SANITEC INC, USA to treat bio-hazardous medical waste. The issue of infectious medical wastes, like needles, syringes, and bandages generated by hospitals and other healthcare providers, is one of increasing concern for countries everywhere. As part of the International Community, the State of Kuwait has a responsibility to be responsive to matters of public concern regarding the safe and proper disposal of these items. The First Kuwaiti Environmental Projects Company (FKEPCO) has been established to provide a clean and environmentally compatible solution to this pressing national issue.
