Dr. Ali Muhammad Khuraibet, GM - Eco

Obtained his B.Sc. in Zoology from Kuwait University in 1983 and his M.Sc. in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1987. He continued his higher education and obtained his Ph.D. in EIA application at the project and policy levels and sustainable development from the University of Aberdeen in 1990. He completed his post doctoral research fellowship, also from Aberdeen, in 1997.

He is listed as an environmental expert in the field of EIA in the United Nations Environmental Programme directory of environmental experts.

He worked in the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research at the Environmental and Earth Sciences Division from 1984-1991. Member of Staff at the Environmental Health Department, college of Health Sciences, PAAET and served as Head of the Department from 1992-1995.

In 1999 he achieved the status of "Environmental Arbitrator Class A" from the Ministry of Justice in the State of Kuwait.

Worked extensively in the field during Kuwait's Oil wells Fires and played a major role with other colleagues in awareness and decision makers in Kuwait and the public about the environmental and health impacts associated with this catastrophe.

He has worked extensively in the intertidal areas of Kuwait and has wide environmental research interest in Kuwait's marine environment (intertidal and subtidal), waste management, land-use planning, policy analysis, environmental awareness and electromagnetic fields pollution. He participated in many seminars and conferences worldwide and authors of many published papers in refereed journals.
