Dr. Dhia H. Al-Bakri
Obtained his M.Sc. in sediments of
estuaries and coastal areas from the University of Sheffield, UK in 1975
and his Ph.D. in land resources from the University
of Shffield,
UK
in 1980. He is currently a senior lecturer in Environmental Management
at the University of Sydney, Orange,
Australia.
He has more than 29 years of teaching and research experience in
environmental geoscience. This is matched by
considerable experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative
projects, consultancy and administration in relation to environmental
and resource management in UK,
Spain, Kuwait and Australia.
His research and consultancy profile includes the development
and implementation of 30 major multidisciplinary projects with a total
budget exceeding $15 million in UK,
Spain, Kuwait and Australia.
His research interest include hydrology and water quality of
inland water ways, sustainable stormwater
management, application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in land
resource management, coastal management and sustainable catchment, sustainability of greening programs in
arid and semi-arid environments.
